I’ve read both Care and Control and Voodoo Room so far. The characters are utterly believable, the plot is fast paced and leaves you unable to put the books down.

I have never been so invested in a set of fictional characters. I’m praying for happy endings but Roshan makes his books so real I don’t know what will happen next.

If you’re a fan of crime fiction that has a real and tangible feel to it, these book and this author will be the perfect fit.

I don’t usually read fiction, but I really enjoyed this book. It was engaging, well written and easy to get into, with characters that felt real and a storyline that kept me wanting to know what happened next. The subject matter is handled with care and insight, and you can tell it comes from genuine knowledge and experience. A gripping and thought-provoking read — I would definitely recommend it.

This book gave me an insight into the worlds of police and social work of which I was previously unaware. The characters are well developed and the storyline is engaging with several threads interwoven throughout.

There is now a second instalment that I have not yet read.

Oh my days what a story!!! A lot of twists and turns and completely not what I expected! I have literally devoured this book and already excited for tomorrow (despite it being Monday!) to start the next one! Gripped from start to finish!

Care & Control was a gripping read. One of the best Police procedural novels I’ve read in a very long time.

The characters are well written, the plot line incredibly engaging. I began reading this at 11.30 am and couldn’t put it down until it was finished.

Roshan is an author to watch. I’ve already downloaded his second book in the series, The Voodoo Room…

Gripping, gritty and compelling, Pitteea’s novel is even more riveting as it is procedurally correct. I look forward to reading his forthcoming title, The Voodoo Room.

A very moving and gritty story that had me gripped from Page One. A very sensitive and brilliantly written story about a vulnerable young man which certainly pulls on the heart strings. The characters are very well formed, especially Louis and Connor. I wanted the story to continue and was sad to read the last page. All I can say is, I highly recommend ‘Care and Control’ – a superb read. I can’t wait for the next novel from this talented author.

Care and Control is an intensely moving story of a young boy’s traumatic dealings within the care system, and some of the dedicated professionals who inevitably play a significant role in his life.

Roshan Pitteea has skillfully woven into the story a fair share of plot twists and turns, as well as shining a very positive light on a range of professionals, and the difficult work they’re faced with, whilst also trying to juggle some sort of personal lives for themselves, in between working long, exhausting and emotionally draining unsociable hours.

Care and Control very much put me in mind of A Circle of Children, by the wonderful Mary Mackracken, which I read over 40 years ago, and which was instrumental in encouraging me into a career working with vulnerable young people, and I very much predict that Care and Control will have a similar impact on readers today.

The book is, well researched and well written, gritty without being unnecessarily gratuitous, and full of heart. I would recommend this book to anyone who has any interest in what is happening in today’s society.

I really enjoyed Care and Control, I found it easy to read and insightful. I thought it was going to be predictable at first but soon discovered that my initial plot guesses were completely wrong. The characters were endearing and the story has a couple of twists that make it exciting. An excellent effort for a first novel, I look forward to the next.
